1- House of Dancing Water
The House of Dancing Water performance is a Chinese folktale jazzed up with high-energy jaw-dropping acrobatic stunts.
Although the storyline is pretty simple, the set and death-defying acrobatic stunts will have you transfixed the entire time.
The 270-degree theatre is impressive and includes an enormous pirate ship, amazing costumes and lots of water.
Front row seats come with raincoats and towels!
It’s a fun show to see if you’re visiting Macau with kids.
Expect to be amazed by the water stunts, which includes lots of Cirque du Soleil-style acrobatics, music that tugs at the heartstrings, dashing sword fights and some seriously amazing motorbike stunts.

2- The Monkey King
No longer operating
The Monkey King is an adaptation of one of the most well-known stories told in Chinese folklore and a larger than life character in Chinese literature.
Journey to the West is one of the most influential works in classical Chinese literature.
The stage show brings traditional Chinese concepts, such as good versus evil and turning hatred into love.
The show is performed in a purpose-built theatre with a giant 15m hand of Buddha weighing 7 tons and two huge talons reaching out from the wings.
The backdrops switch between the celestial world and a Buddhist community, moving from heaven, the mountain tops to under the ocean.
Colourful costumes, acrobatics, ballet performances and martial arts displays combine to present a compelling show.
The talented cast includes stars from the National Peking Opera, acrobats from Cirque du Soleil, winners of the Golden Clown Award, International Acrobatics Competition gold medallists.

La Parisienne Cabaret Francais is a fusion of illusion, dance, acrobatics and comedy.

Macao International Music Festival
Each year, the Macao International Music Festival (MIMF) presents a programme of western and Chinese music.
Audiences in Macao and around the region have embraced music for many years. The theme of the 32nd MIMF is “Enjoy – The Moment in music”, offering 16 programmes and 22 performances in venues across Macao including two traditional Chinese music concerts – a seven-movement symphony Cantonese Rhyme along the Silk Road and suona (Chinese double-reed horn) performance Nostalgic Lane.
Western classical highlights are Italian Opera L’Elisir d’Amore by Donizetti and Anton Bruckner’s Symphony no. 8 in C Minor, performed by the Macao Orchestra and the Shanghai Philharmonic Orchestra.
