Easily Swayed Traveller

I’m a freelance photojournalist based on a cattle property three hours west of Mackay in Central Queensland.

After growing up in Tasmania, moving to a remote area in central Queensland in 1996 was a massive change, but one I embraced.

I still see life in the Australian bush through fresh eyes – the extraordinary people, the extreme weather, the challenges, the beauty and the regular long distance driving.

Often travelling through rural and remote areas, there is never shortage of a great story or photo opportunity.

A travel and rural feature writer, I write and take photos for a wide range of regional, state, national and international newspapers, magazines and industry publications such as RM Williams Outback magazine, MindFood, Tracks, Hoofs and Horns, Tiger Tales, OutThere, Australian Country Style, The Queensland Country Life, The Australian, The Courier-Mail, The Daily Mercury (Mackay), The Rockhampton Bulletin (APN News) and the Canberra Times.

While a lot of my stories are rural based on account of where I live, travelling is a craving and I take every opportunity to explore the world. I never tire of it. Friends and family roll their eyes every time I say ‘I could live here.’

I’ve said it in New York, San Francisco, London, Adelaide, Crete, Cradle Mountain, Clare Valley and Christchurch. I’m easily swayed by locals and fall in love with nearly every town, city and country I visit.
