We enjoyed the Otago settlers museum and the Otago peninsula wildlife including penguins. We also loved St Clair beach and the Italian restaurant there. Unfortunately apart from Emerson’s brewery in Dunedin eating places were very limited and Dunedin was quite down at heel.

We had an overnight stay in Dunedin.
We had an overnight stay in Dunedin. Driving in the city was easy, although Google did take us through many residential streets, when there seemed a more direct route. Drove out to the Peninsula and looked over the inlet and City, roads are windy.
Parked and walked within the City, loved the heritage buildings, street art, variety of shops. Visited the gorgeous train station, found Cobb & Co by accident. Meal and service was excellent. Loved the older style houses and beautiful gardens. Visted Baldwin St (very steep, lots of people walking) and love, love the Botanical Gardens! Many rooms displaying plants and designs.

Gritty city, surrounding area is beautiful, but drive required to get to beaches. Very hilly for walking around. Ate at Speights ale house, bar food was decent, beer flight not impressed. Drove to Long Beach for a walk, very nice with lots of spiral shells along the water.

Tunnel beach was a highlight.
Tunnel beach was a highlight. It is a steep walk down to the beach but it is breathtaking. We went on a warm day and frolicked in the surf. There are no changing areas at the bottom so come prepared iif you want to swim.

Absolutely LOVE Dunedin. Never disappoints!
Absolutely LOVE Dunedin. Never disappoints! So much wildlife. Cafes and food are awesome. Architecture is amazing. Love walking around the Botanic Gardens. Best little city on the country. Marbecks for cheese rolls. The Perc for great coffee. In fact it’s hard to find bad coffee anyshere. Etrusco for Italian food but make sure you book! Street art is great. Allans Beach for wildlife. So much to see and do. Avoid staying at The Chamberson. It’s a rip off. But most places are really good.
Hotel was very easy to locate - not a lot of available space to park the car while checking in. Was excellently located close to everything we wished to access. Dunedin is a very walkable city and the concierge and front desk staff were able to assist with all our enquiries, store luggage and arrange transport to the airport. Bar staff were fabulous. The room was a little on the small side, but totally adequate for our needs. If you stay here, you must use the 'old' elevator at least once, just for the experience.
I really liked my room and the hotel generally. It was beautifully designed and made me feel comfortable during my stay while in town for the women's world cup. The staff was so nice, friendly, and very helpful. The housekeeping staff did such a great job cleaning my room. The front desk staff was so patient and friendly every time and I had questions. The cafe staff was so welcoming and nice. Overall it was an amazing experience and I would love to return.
The hotel was well situated - convenient to walk into central Dunedin, and close to restaurants. The owners of the hotel were very friendly and helpful - provided lots of advice about places to visit and where to eat.
We were also able to use the washing machine and dryer which was very handy.
Our bed was comfortable and the room well appointed.
Definitely recommend as a place to stay in Dunedin.
Exceptional food, cocktails and service in the Press Club. Convenient location - just a short walk to The Octagon and other conveniences. A wonderful stylish Hotel - thoroughly enjoyed our 2-night stay so much that we stayed again on our return to Dunedin. Would definitely recommend. Special mention to the gentleman who assisted with our luggage and to the entertaining bar staff.
Definitely the best place to stay in Dunedin. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. A wonderful little touch was the birthday card for my wife left by the staff in our room after cleaning. Then at our meal the General Manager Andrew led an impromptu happy birthday song for my wife. The whole hotel oozes class.
The hotel is in very easy walking distance of concert venues in the city centre so it's an ideal place to stay when you're from out of town and don't want to drive to and from Dunedin on the same night. My room was very basic and small, but it met my needs.
Spotless - can't recall staying in a cleaner motel /hotel anywhere!
The owner / host Neville is clearly focussed on providing guests with a first class experience - and delivers! We were even given a reduction on the room rate at the time of booking.
Buffet breakfast provided a great start to the day which was good value in our inclusive price. The hotel is right over from the Botanic Garden for relaxing walks in the greenscape. The location is well placed for a short drive into Dunedin centre.
A great motel for a short stay, could walk to beach, surf club, playground and dairy. Short drive to supermarket and petrol stations. Very friendly staff and clean rooms. I would recommend this motel to couples or families staying in Dunedin.
The facilities fitted in with just what I required. A mixture of hotel/motel facilities providing me with what I wanted, what was available to me and my own in/out privacy. A great combination and I will definitely come again.
Enjoyed staying at this hotel for a number of reasons. Very welcoming hosts, great location to town and rooms were good size and very clean. No A/C in room so we were provided a fan which was fine.
Rooms and breakfast was good . Staff was really helpful and friendly . Hotel was in the centre of Dunedin city and very convenient for everything . Prices were reasonable as well .
Very urban heritage hotel. Loved the brickwork in our lounge and spacious 1 bedroom apartment with room to move. Great price, extremely central location.
