It is a magical place for kitesurfing and what makes a day special- best yoga I have ever experienced to start the day every day, very tasty cappuccino from the coffee bar with amazing and international barristers who also run the store, beach is right there and fabulous as well as the cocktails were impressive.

Cool very accessible place, beautiful beach and view.
Cool very accessible place, beautiful beach and view. Pretty clean, lots of dirt roads but in good shape. Lots of sporty white folks ex pats, not a big diversity of things to do. Some great food and walkable areas. The beach was nice but windy of course. Couldn't find the hotsprings on the beach. Would go back!

A quaint town full of people waiting for the Wind to blow.
A quaint town full of people waiting for the Wind to blow.
The water is amazingly clear and calm in the mornings, so even though it's a Windsurfing town, you can still enjoy being in the sea in the morning.
It also has beautiful cactus forests that go on forever.
On the other hand, it's not a very local vibe - most big restaurants and hotel's are owned by expats, and costs are quite high making it hard for locals (and cheap food/activities) to stay. You'll see mostly expats here.

La Ventana is very small at first glance, but grows as you stay. More and more little restaurants can be discovered along the main road. All the taco stands and smaller restaurants there are a good deal and tasty meal. The beaches are quiet and natural. If you take the trip down the dirt road, the hot springs are a great spot. There’s plenty of nature activities if you like or you can just relax and enjoy if you prefer. Definitely rent a car that’s good for all terrain or get an ATV when you get there to be able to access all the best places. It’s one of my favourite places I’ve visited and I will be returning soon 💕

The hotel experience would have been significantly improved if the rooms had provided some simple things like knives forks spoons plates and bowls. What use is is an oven to cook food without the utensils?

Come to La Ventana to camp with kite and windsurfers.
Come to La Ventana to camp with kite and windsurfers. The town has a few good restaurants and average to below average hotels located on the beach. The roads are dirt and rocks. There are large RV and campings areas along the roads and beachfront.
The staff is amazing , it was like having a private concierge . Gabby, Daniel and Carlos were very accommodating. They made food for us to take on 2 excursions and arranged a great boating experience with Enrique. we were picked up right on the Hotels beach and saw whales , snorkeled on the island around corral reefs, swam with sea lions at La Reina light house and caught dorado . we had the best room on the property with a kitchenette for and made our own fresh coffee every morning .
The vibe here is perfect.
As a digital nomad I've stayed in a lot of hostels/co-living spaces. One of the best things about the La Ventana Hostel is the kitchen common area. They do a really good job maintaining it which inspired big group dinners with other guests on several occasions. Other positives: Internet was consistent and of pretty good speed. Rooms clean and cool, which is important in a desert. Do yourself a favor and book at least one night. You wont regret it.
Our room at Nomada Hotel was really nicely designed, in an African theme, and all the other room seem to have a great theme. All the equipment were working and the bed was super comfortable.
We did not have the opportunity to test to restaurant and the staff were really friendly and flexible when it came to arrival / check out.
The room itself was a bit dusty but it did not bother us at all, and it is to be expected considering all the surroundings is sand.
The comfort and cleanliness of the room.
Super quiet. No noise.
Very nice pool with sun loungers and umbrella. The pool area is beautiful.
Rooftop terrace with great view of the sea and sunrise.
Quiet, well-functioning air conditioning.
House with everything you need: towels, plates, glasses, kitchen utensils, fridge, stove, cleaning supplies, etc.
If I go back to La Ventana, I will repeat it for sure!
You can't beat the location of this hotel as the veiw is awesome and you walk right from the hotel to the beach. When we were there ,there was only a couple of other quests so it was very quiet which was great. Their restaurant or bar wasn't open so that was disappointing but there us lots of restaurants in the town. The room are dated but very clean . We would definitely stay again.
We spent 1 night as we were going fishing the next day. It is a spectacular and charming place. The owner that set it up showed an obvious pride of ownership. La Ventanas has so much outdoor beauty to explore. Don't shy away from this place because it has hostel in the name. Make sure and look at all the photos of the place to make sure it is what you are looking for!
Desert Wind was the perfect retreat during our stay in La Ventana. The room itself was well-designed and comfortable. The wifi was fine for what we needed (casual use) and the AC was strong enough in November. Any hotter and it may have struggled. The pool was lovely!
Justyna was very helpful with clear directions and access to extra towels, toilet paper, etc.
Absolutely loved this hotel! It is a beautiful and peaceful location right on the ocean, and the staff are fantastic! Felt very relaxed and at home, and truly enjoyed the serene ambiance. Went for long walks on the beach & on the nearby hiking trails - did not have time to do all the many activities available in the resort and the town. Did not want to leave!
wonderful hotel, small, cost, facing the ocean, great facilities and the staff is very friendly. the swimming pool is a nice to have in this area when the wind blows, and we all enjoyed the jacuzzi at sunset. amazing family stay, another Christmas vacation at Casa Tara and we will continue to come back. thank you Casa Tara for making us feel Bering home!
Omg EVERYTHING!!!!
First the room- clean, big, hot water in the shower, amazing view of the ocean, big balcony, well equipt kitchen and more.
Second the host- Delilah was the kindest most attentive lovely host i ever had!
Everything we needed she helped with. More so, she helped us to get to know la ventana with great recomandations and advice.
I love La Ventana Bay Resort !! Nelly, Tony all the ladies helping , cooking, serving are so professional and welcoming .
I feel like being at home when I am there and the location on the private beach, the Kitesurfing instructor and school owner Marty and his lovely wife, everybody is a five star !!
ChangoMango has a great location and the staff is super helpful and friendly. They have all the contacts for different types of activities in La Ventana. The food they serve is also really good. The place is cool, super clean, and beautiful!
The yurts were very unique and a fun place to spend a few days. They also offered paddle boards and kayaks for no additional charge. The beach bar was a cute place to hang but a little more on the pricey side for Mexico.
There wasn’t any breakfast or coffee, but great restaurants right next door! I wish the hotel would finish being built, because it has major potential, but much of it goes unused. Our room was beautiful -The Titanic!
Great location. Great ocean view, right on the beach in downtown la ventana. Kitchen & refrigerator were nice to have, but didn't use them. Host owner was a very nice guy, and when around very accommodating.
Hotel is right at the beach, bed is suuuper comfortable! You can also grab a drink or breakfast right at the bar next to your room. Stuff if helpful and nice.
A little too far from my family in La Ventana but facility was quite comfortable & offered excellent facilities for group gathering & meal preparation.
