If you’re looking for a vacation spot that combines luxury and romance in a relatively undiscovered Caribbean island destination, you’ll love The Cove Resort on the Bahamas Out Island of Eleuthera. The Cove is Eleuthera’s premier luxury property and the resort is a favourite haunt for celebrities. You’ll feel like you’ve been treated like a rock star after spending a week here.
Where is The Cove?
Flying to Eleuthera means a 70-minute flight from Miami to Nassau, then taking another 20-minute puddle jumper to Eleuthera.
Pineapple Air and Southern Air fly several times per day from Nassau to the North Eleuthera airport (ELH.)
Why would I stay at The Cove?
There are 56 suites, villas and cottages at The Cove and two crescent-shaped beaches. Most of the accommodation is steps from the beach.
Another reason to stay at The Cove is you’ll be waited on hand and foot. There are 106 employees (that’s more than two per suite).
At night, the contrast between the dark sky, stars, moon and the illuminated palm trees are magical.
Each day The Cove has a special cocktail. Ask about the Goombay Smash.
What’s really special about The Cove?
Sunsets are works of art at The Cove. You can enjoy a sunset on the peninsula that separates The Cove’s north and south beaches.
At the edge of the peninsula there are daybeds, chairs and tables. Lie back, relax and connect with nature. The sense of quiet isso calming. Another spot to watch the sunset is from the infinity pool area or on the north beach.
What about the food?
The Freedom Restaurant dishes up fresh seafood as well as daily sushi offerings. The Cove Eleuthera will also arrange to take guests out fishing and afterward the chef will cook up your catch.
What else is there to do?
The Cove provides snorkelling, kayaking and paddle boarding gear for those who love the water (the water is remarkably turquoise!). You can rent a car or jeep and explore the island of Eleuthera. On most of the island’s beaches you might find you’re the only people there.
There are several beach bars, restaurants and historic sites to check out as you drive south from The Cove at Eleuthera. For an exciting day trip, Harbour Island and Spanish Wells are a 15-minute ferry ride from Eleuthera’s north end. And if you’re feeling adventurous, there’s a surfing school 20 minutes away.
