The Myrtle Beach Boardwalk runs 1.2 miles (1.93 km) along the oceanfront from Pier 14 at 14th Avenue North to the 2nd Avenue Pier at 2nd Avenue North.

It is one of the top attractions for visitors, so we couldn’t leave it off of our list.

At the boardwalk, you can find shops, restaurants, activities, museums, and theaters.

There is truly something for everyone here.

Some of our favorite stops along the boardwalk include Sharkey’s Oceanfront Grill, Ripley’s Haunted Adventure, and the Gay Dolphin Gift Cove.

The aquarium is one of our favorite Ripley attractions because the center offers a ton of unique aquatic experiences including a Penguin Nursery, a Glass Bottom Boat Adventure, Mermaid Breakfasts, and special camps for kids such as Sleeping with Sharks.

You can get a special pass that gives you admission to all of the Ripley’s attractions, or a single pass for the Ripley’s Aquarium starting at $39.99.

6- Ride The Rollercoasters At Family Kingdom Amusement Park

Family Kingdom Amusement Park opened in 1966 and has been one of South Carolina’s best amusement parks since.

The park features over 35 thrilling rides from mild rides for children to rip-roaring coasters for adults.

Plus, the park just opened new rides for 2023 to keep the fun fresh.

The rides run on a ticket system, with each ride being worth a certain amount of tickets to enter.

You can purchase batches of 50 or 100 tickets or a wristband that gives you unlimited access.

The museum is named after two local philanthropists who played a large part in opening the museum itself.

Brookgreen Gardens is located in nearby Murrells Inlet, but it’s well worth stepping out of Myrtle Beach to explore the 9,000 acres (3,642 ha) of sculptures, botanical gardens, and Lowcountry landscapes.

If you prefer a little more action than the calm waves of the Myrtle Beach Shore, look no further than Myrtle Waves Water Park.

This massive park stands as the largest waterpark in the whole state of South Carolina, filled with water slides, tube slides, kids’ play areas, a wave pool, and a surf simulator.

Our favorite attraction at the park is the Turbo Twister Slides, which are high-intensity body speed slides that send you spiraling at 50 feet (15 m) per hour.

Myrtle Waves Water Park is open at varying hours depending on the season and day, so be sure to check the website for specific hours.

16- Snap Photos With The Figures At The Hollywood Wax Museum

This unique museum is filled with exceptionally life-like wax figures of famous celebrities such as NASCAR drivers, pop stars, television show hosts, and more.

Visitors of the Hollywood Wax Museum are invited to interact with the wax figures and snap photos with props and backdrops such as a Vegas club, a gym, and a concert stage that puts you in the middle of the action.

The Carolina Opry Theater is home to the first variety show in Myrtle Beach and is still rated #1 year after year.

The show includes music, comedy, and dance with 35 of the nation’s top performers.

If you are visiting during the off-season from November to January, be sure to catch The Carolina Opry Christmas Special.

It’s known as “The Christmas Show of the South.”

In addition to The Carolina Opry Show, the Theater also hosts nationally recognized artists such as Wynonna Judd, Travis Tritt, Art Garfunkel, and many more.

18- Take A Tour Of T.I.G.E.R.S. Preservation Station

The T.I.G.E.R.S. Preservation Station is in Doc Antle’s Myrtle Beach Safari at Barefoot Landing.

This exhibit allows you to get nose-to-nose with beautiful tigers.

The ranch is one of the best animal experiences in the area, offering tons of different safaris and animal photos and encounters.

Visitors can make their choice of safaris such as an African Safari, Night Safari, and Private Encounters which give you private access to interact with adorable creatures including painting with chimpanzees, swimming with elephants, and even an overnight stay in the Tiger cage.

Reservations are recommended as the experiences tend to sell out, especially during busy seasons.

20- Check Out The Retro Collection At Myrtle Beach Pinball Museum

This exciting and fun museum was created by a group of pinball enthusiasts who donated their time and resources in order to present South Carolina’s most extensive pinball machine collection.

The team of volunteers wanted these vintage machines to be appreciated rather than sit in a lonely warehouse.

Visitors can admire and even play these retro pinball machines at the museum.

Admission is $12 for an hour of gameplay.
