Professional travel instagrammer
I’m a professional travel instagrammer based on the Gold Coast in Queensland. Instagram has allowed me to travel to amazing destinations, such as Alberta in Canada, New Zealand and a host of Australian destinations including the Northern Territory, Tropical North Queensland, New South Wales and Tasmania.
I downloaded the Instagram app in September 2011 and posted a photo of a cow, which I had turned into a jigsaw puzzle. Within two weeks I was hooked on Instagram and I soon became obsessed with photography.
By the time I had 3000 instagram followers, I had invested in my first DSLR camera. But I’ve never had any formal training as a photographer.
I grew up in the small town of Dover in Tasmania and moved to the Gold Coast via Melbourne in 2002.
I started my working life as an apprentice chef at the age of 15. I trained at Drysdale College in Hobart and chose to become a chef because I always loved food. I was influenced by my grandmother, who baked the most amazing apple pie, tarts and logan berry pie.
I worked as a chef for 19 years (my last job was at Café Marina in Marina Mirage).
The thing I enjoyed most about being a chef was the ability to be creative and I’m now using my creativity to capture the beauty of each destination I visit (I’m looking forward to seeing much more of the world!).
My favourite drink is Scotch and my favourite author is Stephen King.
I also dream of writing a cook book.
